A Couple of more Polaroids

Cool Townhouses, Chelsea, MA - I went to an open house here - a lot of bang for the buck, and what's so bad about Chelsea?

During obnoxious flat spells, photos like this keep the stoke going.

Anticipation & satisfaction. Who's heading out & who's coming back to the lot? Is it morning or late afternoon? Where is this? What wide noserider is that? A Weber Performer? One thing that's not a mystery is the absence of vibe.

Keep Shooting, Danger!

This flat spell really bites.

CrossFit Cape Ann

So what is CrossFit?

I quote:
"CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program utilized by tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. We believe that proficiency is required in each of ten fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy.

The CrossFit program takes an old school approach and combines it with hard work and commitment to allow you to achieve total fitness. CrossFit uses varied, functional movements at high intensities, scaled to your ability, for the maximum results, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless or your experience and fitness level. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs…. because the needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ only by degree not kind."

Jon Conant runs a great operation, never have I received such a supportive, nurturing, and encouraging ass-kicking. Thanks!

More Polaroids - Barron's at Gloucester

Barron knows how to set up a period perfect '60's gasser (a dragster that ran on gasoline versus alcohol) and so does his bud with an amazing turquoise blue Buick/'32 high boy. Thanks gents.

The waves earlier too:

The waves hung in there for most of the day, but they were blown flat by the next day. Boots and gloves needed - right on schedule. Dan J. was killing it (above), and Johnny O could actually stand up paddle into waves despite the 40mph gusts.

Polaroid: the best of all possible worlds

You heard it here first, Polaroids will be back in a big way. Ummm well don't hold you breath.
polaroid-10-11.jpg
With Dr. Land's products you get it all, the instant gratification of a picture without waiting, with the mystery and anticipation wondering what the picture will look like. Did I over cook it? Did I jump the gun? All part of the fun.

Thanks Special J for being a patient subject!

But any major dude with half a brain would, and so would you, dear readers.

I wish I took this picture. But I didn't - but when I think back to my time in Los Angeles - this image just about sums it up - June gloom, longboards and smiles - the rose tinted memory-glass washes out the BS (crowds, cash vacuum, & traffic). A golden state visit is long overdue.

Surf Rig Wednesday - Ford Econoline vans & pick'em ups.

Vans - they've been on my mind lately - especially this sort of thing. Hey I love the VW's, and there's a clean stripped-down Eurovan in town I'd love, but how bad ass are these?

Note the innovative log storage up high (above), and the reversed steel wheels are sheer perfection.
Below: My pick of the bunch - satin finish with white scallops, all sittin' on Cragar mags - attitude on top of attitude on top of attitude.

Below: I'll be looking for this trophy winner next time I'm in Rhodie:

See - I was taught early in the ways of Edwin Herbert Land; a god among men:

H.T. note - no bitter rants allowed - I chopped out a section. To quote yesterday's birthday boy:
"Life is very short, and there's no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend."
