Cold Wave Action on Film

Just a few more pics.

This old Nikon film camera paired with a 300mm telephoto is fun. It's fully manual, forcing me to think more about apertures & shutter speeds, rusty stuff!

Wipeouts

Idea borrowed from Rebecca's blog, but since I'm a weekend warrior these days, I thought you'd all enjoy. I agree, the soundtrack avoids all the heavy metal or emo cliches.

Hopefully I'll have some wipeout pics of my own to show over the long holiday weekend.

Musclecar Monday - 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler

These came in white with either blue (Dan Gurney "edition") or red (Cale Yarborough team color) accents. Even rarer than the Plymouth Super Bird or Charger Daytonas. You had to beg one from a dealer, Ford lost money on these, but they had to make so many copies so as to make them "legal" for Nascar racing. And they cleaned up on the race day so it all worked out.

Why can't Mercs be cool anymore?

Sunday eve.

our own backyard.

took long enough!

Outside big messy and dangerously crowded. Inside no.

Elsewhere (below) was decent, but the plus tides were really messing things up.

Bodega Boston

I’ve been through a couple of cool shops in my time but this one is the icing on the cake. It is a store located near Berkeley School of Music in Boston, MA called BODEGA.

For anyone who doesn’t know what a bodega is (Including me.) it’s also known as a convenience store. The entrance of this o.g. boutique looks like a convenience store in the front selling items such as Bleach, Tide, Chips, Toothpaste, etc. but when you enter the secret-door-snapple-machine towards the back you enter a cool store.

Muslcecar Monday - Mopar Madness!

1965 Plymouth Belvedere

I'll stick with the '65 theme this week. Plymouth had the "roaring sixty-fives"

This fast monkey looks to be set up for the drags.

Film lives

Not much surf lately, so here are some film pics. There was a very happy mistake with a double exposed roll on the Canon Demi half frame.

Musclecar Monday: the '65 Pontiac GTO

Great things came out of 1965 if I do say so myself.

The Pontiac GTO, basically a tempest with a whopping engine, arguably the 1st musclecar ever. It was John Delorean's legendary brainchild.

Nothing was more boss than a GTO. What's your favorite year GTO?

The Ramones knew it:
Well the girls out there knock me out, you know
Rock, rock, rock'n'roll high school
Cruisin' around in my GTO
