Ideal Log Waves Up North End Winter Surf Drought
The tides were extreme - shutting things out around here, so I hit the road again.
The tide was dropping all session, but the conditions held up. Very very very nice to have some clean rides and some pretty good size.

Everything you wanted to know about Cumolonimbus clouds but were afraid to ask
There's this old sailing/nautical reference book/paperback kicking around. The Illustrations & type I think are amazing. And since the whole "seafaring, yar,-pass the grog matie, maritime lore, boats and captains" trip is the current thing for independent longboarders, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and get into the marine aesthetic. Yes - a total meeeee toooooo move. But the both the artwork and the information in the book is great, so enjoy.
Buy one for $15
So if you like boats or gorgeous illustration, check it out. Dazzle your friends with your knowledge of half hitches, marlin spikes, and the correct pronunciation of "forecastle".

The light up here
What is it about the light on Cape Ann? I've known this place forever, and the light, no matter what time of year is like no where else. Fitz Hugh Lane, Edward Hopper, the Ashcan School artists, Emile Gruppé know it. I can only pop pictures in the hopes of getting this point across: At any time of the year, any time of the day, rain or shine, the light around here can be fantastic.

Tails in the crypt
My surf crypt, that is. We see loads of quiver shots, but not many surf dungeon/storage pictures. Yes, it's been that bad.
It's been flat for a long time now, I thought I'd go down to the basement and say hi to the babies. My 50mm lens can see better than my cat, and I don't think I've seen the boards in almost 4 weeks, it's been so bad (for us Mon-Fri stiffs). But flatness bites less when it's biting cold. That said we could sure use some waves.
