Mercury Production to End
Who really cares, the marque had become an overpriced Ford for the blue hair set.
No more Hummer (I hope), and GM put Pontiac, Saturn, and Oldsmobile out of their respective miseries. And now Mercury can die a similar death due to lameness.
Once there were cool Mercs before you'd see them driven in droves up and down from Florida, racing to early bird specials instead of checkered flags.

East Coast Contender – Straight outta Manchester-by-the-Sea
“Yeah – they made good surfboards in Manchester back in the ‘60’s.” Who were they? What were they? And how is it that I have never seen one?
Ladies and gents – the East Coast Surfboards Contender Model:
Pulling into the lot earlier this week, I see this da Cat style fin head and shoulders above all these other plain ordinary fins on the roofs of cars. It belongs to a Lanesville dude. It hasn’t missed much sun either, but it’s about 44 years old, and never got mowed down into some back yard re-do. Or mowed into some ledge.
Manchester-by-the-Sea represents.
